We spent most of the week of Thanksgiving 2003 on the island of Oahu. We went for one of those "check out the timeshare" trips, where you get a special deal on the room if you sit through a 2 hours sales pitch. It was well worth it - the hotel was beautiful, and we got to see Oahu! One of the first places we visited was the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. If you plan on visiting, get there very early in the morning (7am or so). The line shouldn't be too long at that point.

Mooring of the USS Arizona.

The USS Arizona Memorial from the pier that the USS Missouri is on. The Memorial actually straddles where the superstructure of the USS Arizona was.

Moorings of the USS Tennessee (majorly damaged in the attack) and the USS West Virginia (sunk during the attack). The battleships were all lined up at the moorings along the shore of island.

The flag flying over the USS Arizona Memorial. It is attached to the severed mainmast of the USS Arizona, as a tribute to the ship and her crew.
